WHAT IS A DELEGATE AND WHY SHOULD I VOTE?

​Every two years, Democrats in California elect assembly district level delegates to the California state Democratic Party. As a registered Democrat, these delegates are YOUR representatives in the party, who vote on endorsements statewide and in your district, and on other party business. Voting in the ADEMs is a great way to participate and help make sure that we're represented by good people at the state level, who will cast thoughtful ballots for Democratic candidate endorsements and for the leadership of the state party, and are actually responsive to the rank and file voters who support Democrats. 

You can vote for up to 14 candidates on your ballot.

What is Assembly District 55 (AD55)?

There are 80 Assembly Districts in California. Each Assembly District has an elected representative. AD 55's Assemblymember is Isaac Bryan.

how to vote


If  you signed up to receive your ballot electronically (before Jan. 31)

Online VOTING

The California Democratic Party (CDP) started sending ballots at 12pm Saturday. If you requested a ballot and used the same email address that PDI (i.e. the voter data system the CDP uses) has matched with you, you will receive an email with your voting credentials and you will be able to vote right away. If you used a different email address to sign up to get a ballot, or haven't provided an email address in connection with your voter registration, you will receive your voting credentials and further instructions by snail mail sometime in the next few days to a week.

  • To vote electronically in the 2025 ADEM Elections, voters must have registered by January 31, 2025. 
  • After January 31, 2025, ADEM Voters who choose to vote by electronic ballot will be mailed the online voting credentials via USPS on or before January 31, 2025. 
  • The online voting credentials will include the Voters ID Number, which was sent over email when they registered, and a unique password. 
  • Voter will use the ElectionBuddy link with the Credentials and login in to their ballot. 
  • After successfully logging in, voters will have the ability to select up to 14 candidates on the ballot. If you select more than 14, ElectionBuddy will not allow you to proceed. PLEASE VOTE FOR THE AD55UNITED SLATE
  • Credentials will be mailed to each ADEM participant's registered mailing address. No changes may be made.
  • ADEM Voting Credentials WILL be distributed via mail ONLY, and not by email, phone, or any other means. This is to ensure that the information will be shared only with the participant through their registered address.
  • If you do not receive your Voting Credentials, you must go to an In Person Location to vote using your original ID Number

Vote in Person Saturday/Sunday February 22/23
In addition to the online voting system, voters will also have the option to vote at in-person voting locations. Please see below for all in-person voting locations
  • Any Democrat may vote at any location in the state if they so choose.
  • Every in-person VOTING participant must have a participant code in advance to cast a ballot. 
  • The voter can complete the in-person registration form on site to be verified in advance and provided a 10 digit code.
  • In all cases of in person voting, the voter must pick from among the list of candidates for their particular Assembly District (based on their residence).
  • If the voter is NOT verified in advance, then the voter must provide proof of verification by February 26, 2025 at 12 p.m. in order for the in-person ballot to be counted.
